Responding to your enquiry, preparing a survey or quotation — Article 6(1)(b) UK GDPR, because the processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract. Where you enquire on behalf of a company, we rely on our legitimate interests instead (Article 6(1)(f)): responding to a business approach made to us.
Keeping the website secure and available (server logs, rate limiting, bot protection) — Article 6(1)(f), our legitimate interest in protecting the site and our business from attack, fraud and abuse.
Keeping records of enquiries and of work we have quoted for or carried out — Article 6(1)(f), our legitimate interest in managing our business and defending claims; and Article 6(1)(c) where we have a legal obligation to keep records.

Where we rely on legitimate interests we have considered whether our interest is overridden by your rights, taking account of how little data we collect, the business nature of most enquiries, and the security measures we apply. You can object to this processing — see “Your rights”.

We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects, and we do not sell your data.

Marketing. We do not currently send marketing emails from data collected on this website. If that changes, we will only email you about our services with your consent or where the “soft opt-in” under PECR applies, and every message will contain an unsubscribe link.
